A Petrobras tender designed to contract subsea umbilicals has led to a thriller, with the low bidder ending forward by a paltry margin.
Petrobras final 12 months launched a young to contract 67.2 kilometres of metal tube umbilicals (STUs) and related tools to help manufacturing at pre-salt tasks within the prolific Santos basin offshore Brazil.
Trade sources informed Upstream that Oceaneering — by way of its subsidiary Marine Manufacturing Techniques — topped the competitors with a proposal price 319.7 million reais ($61.5 million).
