Offshore drilling providers supplier Transocean Ltd. has secured a contract extension for one in all its rigs, Deepwater Asgard, having been tapped by an unbiased operator in america Gulf of Mexico.
The contract will get a further twelve months, with the brand new program anticipated to begin in June 2024 in direct continuation of the rig’s present program with extra providers, Transocean stated in a press launch.
Based on Transocean’s Fleet Standing Replace issued in February, Deepwater Asgard was raking in $440,000 per day below its contract with Hess Corp., which has three one-year extension choices agreed within the preliminary contract from September 2022.
The whole contract worth of roughly $195 million features a $10.9 million lump sum fee, which was not included within the estimated backlog of roughly $184 million, the corporate stated within the media launch.
Transocean stated that as of February 14, 2024, its whole backlog stood at roughly $9 billion.
