TotalEnergies has kicked off a serious, delayed drilling marketing campaign on its Egina subject offshore Nigeria in a bid to avert an additional precipitous collapse in output on the nation’s most vital oilfield.

Between January and December 2022, oil manufacturing from Egina plunged 28% from about 151,000 barrels per day to nearly 109,000 bpd, in line with knowledge from the Nigerian authorities.

On the finish of final 12 months, Egina remained Nigeria’s largest oil producer, however was very near being surpassed by Shell’s Bonga subject.
