Power tech supplier TechnipFMC has secured an built-in engineering, procurement, development, and set up (iEPCI) contract for Equinor ASA’s Heidrun extension undertaking. TechnipFMC stated in a media launch that the award follows an built-in front-end engineering and design research it had already accomplished.

The brand new contracts, in line with TechnipFMC, are valued between $75 million and $250 million.

The undertaking will improve the present infrastructure and prolong the manufacturing lifecycle of the Heidrun platform, TechnipFMC stated. In accordance with the Norwegian Offshore Directorate, the Heidrun subject is within the Norwegian Sea 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) northeast of the Asgard subject. Heidrun has a water depth of 350 meters (1,150 ft).

“This direct award highlights the mutual good thing about early engagement, which led to an optimized subject structure. We’re excited to leverage our iEPCI built-in execution to improve this vital asset for Equinor”, Jonathan Landes, President for Subsea at TechnipFMC, stated.

In 2024, Equinor elevated its possession within the Heidrun subject to 34.4 p.c following an asset swap with Petoro. Heidrun is among the many fields with the longest remaining life on the Norwegian continental shelf, Equinor stated on the time.

Earlier this yr, Equinor awarded a three-year properly plugging contract involving Heidrun to Island Drilling Firm AS, Archer Oiltools, and Baker Hughes Norge.  The scope of labor underneath the contract contains mobilization, deliberate upgrading, and sure built-in drilling companies, Equinor stated.

The semi-submersible rig Island Innovator can be deployed to hold out the contract. It is going to plug subsea wells at Heidrun, Snorre, and Norne, amongst others.

Erik G. Kirkemo, Equinor senior vp for drilling and properly, stated the corporate goals to drill 600 improved oil restoration wells and roughly 250 exploration wells to maintain its manufacturing on the Norwegian Continental Shelf till 2035.
