Strategic Marine to Construct One other CTV for OEG Renewables

Singapore-headquartered shipbuilder Strategic Marine (S) Pte Ltd. has secured a contract to construct a next-generation crew switch vessel (CTV) for OEG Renewables, a part of the OEG Power Group. The shipbuilder mentioned in a media launch that this vessel, named Wey Feng, would be the fourth StratCat 27 it’s constructing for OEG.

It’s “a testomony to OEG’s confidence in our vessels and our ongoing dedication to supporting their offshore operations throughout the Asia Pacific”, the corporate mentioned.

“The StratCat 27 has confirmed very profitable on numerous tasks in Taiwan already and this newest addition will bolster our regional operations”, Michael James, Normal Supervisor for OEG Renewables’ marine service line, mentioned.

The Wey Feng is a 27-meter (88.6 toes) aluminum catamaran powered by twin Caterpillar C32 engines. This vessel, designed by BMT, is able to working in difficult offshore situations, with a gas capability of 35,000 liters (9250 gallons) and seating for twenty-four technicians. The vessel’s design permits for secure transfers in waves as much as 1.75 meters, making it well-suited for the offshore wind trade, Strategic Marine mentioned. It’s set for supply in February 2025.
