Petrobras Extends FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis Constitution

Petrobras Extends FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis Constitution

State-owned oil and gasoline main Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) has prolonged the constitution interval for the floating manufacturing storage and offloading items (FPSO) Cidade de Angra dos Reis by an extra 5 years, till 2030.

Petrobras signed amendments to the constitution and repair agreements for the FPSO on behalf of the Tupi subject consortium with Tupi Pilot MV 22 B.V. and Modec Serviços de Petróleo do Brasil Ltda.

In a media launch, Petrobras stated that the amendments intention to allow upgrades to the FPSO, which at present has a manufacturing potential exceeding 50,000 barrels per day (bpd).

“The deliberate enhancements are supposed to reinforce manufacturing reliability and effectivity, keep platform integrity, operational security, and scale back greenhouse gasoline emissions. The consortium plans to decommission the unit in 2030”, Petrobras stated.

The FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis has been working within the Tupi subject since October 2010, when it turned the primary high-capacity FPSO to work within the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, in keeping with Petrobras.

MODEC transformed the VLCC Dawn IV into the FPSO Cidade de Angra dos Reis, a unit able to processing as much as 100,000 barrels of oil per day and 5 million cubic meters of gasoline. The FPSO is designed to take away hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2), with the capability to reinject CO2 downhole at 550 bar and export gross sales gasoline to shore, in keeping with MODEC.

Petrobras stated the amendments align with its 2025-2029 Enterprise Plan and reinforce its dedication to the continuity and growth of the Tupi subject.

The Tupi consortium includes Petrobras, with a 67.216 % stake, Shell, with a 23.024 % stake, Petrogal, with a 9.209 % stake, and PPSA with a 0.551 % stake.
