Japanese floater specialist Modec has moved to safe yard house for constructing topsides modules for the floating manufacturing, storage and offloading vessel that ExxonMobil is planning to deploy on the Uaru discipline offshore Guyana.

The US supermajor is simply anticipated to make a closing funding resolution on the Uaru growth later this quarter.

Nonetheless, Modec already has front-end engineering and design (FEED) research for the FPSO and undertaking fundamentals are so sturdy that sanction by ExxonMobil and its companions on the prolific Stabroek block are seen as a formality as soon as closing regulatory approvals are in place.
