Papua New Guinea’s nationwide petroleum and power firm Kumul Petroleum Holdings Restricted has completed its seismic program on its operated Kimu and Barikewa licenses.

“On Wednesday, March 26, we shot the final gap on a seismic line within the Kimu license, and camp demobilization has begun. That is the fruits of a seismic program we now have been enterprise in our two petroleum retention licenses”, Wapu Sonk, Kumul Petroleum’s managing director, stated. “The aim of this seismic work is to assemble extra geological info on the petroleum sources already found in these two licenses, to extend the volumes of oil and fuel reserves. The second goal is to determine and agency up siting of some delineation wells and exploration targets”.

Sonk stated the seismic marketing campaign had been carried out by contractor OilMin Holdings and had taken roughly six months. He famous that seismic line slicing is a labor-intensive exercise and the six seismic traces required the employment of 477 native individuals in distant areas of the Gulf and Western provinces.
