World petroleum and different liquid fuels manufacturing will outweigh consumption by 2.83 million barrels per day in 2026.

The EIA highlighted in its STEO that world liquid fuels consumption “elevated by an estimated 1.2 million barrels per day in 2025” and identified that it’s “forecast to extend by 1.1 million barrels per day in 2026 and 1.3 million barrels per day in 2027”.
