Essential infrastructure options specialist Black & Veatch is trying into the potential of deploying carbon seize, utilization, and storage (CCUS) tech in coal-fired energy vegetation throughout Vietnam. In a media launch, the corporate stated it has been commissioned by the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) to check carbon-cutting applied sciences at three coal-fired energy vegetation owned by Vietnam Oil and Fuel Group (Petrovietnam or PVN).
These vegetation are the Vung Ang 1 Thermal Energy Plant in Ha Tinh Province, the Tune Hau 1 Thermal Energy Plant in Hau Giang Province, and the Thai Binh 2 Thermal Energy Plant in Thai Binh Province. Every plant has a capability of two x 600 megawatts (MW), the corporate stated.
