BP Extends Oman EPC Contract Awarded to Worley, STS Joint Enterprise

BP PLC has awarded a three-year contract extension for Block 61 (Khazzan and Ghazeer) in Oman to the Worley Ltd. and Particular Technical Companies LLC (STS) three way partnership. The three way partnership, often known as Particular Technical Companies Worley Built-in Options (SWIS), will present engineering, procurement, and development (EPC) companies to BP.

Worley stated in a media launch that the preliminary five-year EPC contract was awarded to SWIS in April 2018. It was additional prolonged by BP in 2022 by a further two years, it stated.

The BP-operated Block 61 was developed in two phases, with Khazzan beginning manufacturing in 2017 and Ghazeer beginning manufacturing in 2020. Based on BP, Khazzan and Ghazeer produce 1.5 billion cubic ft of gasoline a day and greater than 60,000 barrels a day of related condensate and maintain an estimated 10.5 trillion cubic ft of recoverable gasoline assets.

“The companies embody ongoing subject improvement of BP’s Block 61 gasoline subject in Oman in addition to brownfield modifications of operational belongings together with the central processing facility”, Worley stated. The gasoline from Block 61 is pumped into Oman’s nationwide gasoline grid for home consumption. It additionally serves as feedstock for Oman Liquefied Pure Gasoline LLC, the entity that operates three pure gasoline liquefaction trains at its web site in Qalhat close to Sur, with a nameplate capability of 10.4 million tonnes each year.

Beneath the brand new three-year extension, Worley will proceed to guide the work from its Oman workplace, Worley stated.
