Abu Dhabi-based petrochemicals firm Borouge PLC has partnered with Honeywell to conduct a proof of idea for AI-powered autonomous operations. The corporate stated in a media launch that this collaboration has the potential to revolutionize its UAE plant operations.

The collaboration between Borouge and Honeywell is ready to ship the petrochemical trade’s first AI-driven management room designed for full-scale, real-time operation, establishing a brand new normal for the way forward for AI in petrochemicals, Borouge stated.

“Borouge’s AI, Digitalization, and Know-how (AIDT) transformation program is setting new requirements in operations, innovation, and enterprise efficiency. By collaborating with world AI leaders akin to Honeywell, we’re accelerating progress, driving effectivity, and enhancing shareholder worth. This mission additional strengthens Borouge’s aggressive edge as we proceed to ship on our formidable AIDT roadmap,” Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chief Government Officer of Borouge, stated.

The businesses agreed to convey their experience in course of expertise and autonomous management capabilities to establish new alternatives to deploy Agentic AI options and superior machine studying algorithms, Borouge stated.

Borogue stated the initiative seeks to implement proof-of-concept applied sciences that may enhance its operations throughout its Ruwais amenities within the UAE. By embracing autonomous operations, Borouge stated it could actually optimize manufacturing, reduce vitality consumption, and enhance security, all whereas driving down prices, at what would be the world’s largest petrochemical website.

Borouge expects its AIDT program to usher in $575 million in worth this 12 months.
