Baker Hughes Co. has signed an settlement with Iraq-based Halfaya Fuel Co. Ltd. (HGC) to strengthen collaboration for an revolutionary flare fuel restoration system on the Bin Umar fuel processing plant in southeastern Iraq.

Baker Hughes stated in a media launch that the undertaking will considerably cut back upstream flaring and remodel waste fuel into worthwhile merchandise.

The undertaking goals to get better as much as 300 million customary cubic ft per day of flared fuel. That is equal to roughly 32 billion kilowatt-hours yearly, much like the annual electrical energy use of about 2 million common households in Iraq, Baker Hughes stated.

The waste fuel that might have been flared will as a substitute be processed into handled dry fuel, liquefied petroleum fuel (LPG), and condensate for each home consumption and export, it stated.
