Aster Chemical compounds and Vitality (Aster) has agreed to accumulate Chevron Phillips Singapore Chemical compounds Pte Ltd (CPSC). CPSC is a three way partnership between Chevron Phillips Chemical, EDB Investments Pte Ltd, and Sumitomo Chemical Co Ltd.

In accordance with Chevron Phillips Chemical, CPSC shareholders have agreed to promote one hundred pc of their shares. With the acquisition of CPSC, Aster has secured possession of a 400,000 tons every year high-density polyethylene manufacturing facility on Jurong Island, Singapore. The power is owned and operated by CPSC, and following the acquisition, the corporate’s 150 staff are anticipated to have a chance to hitch Aster, Chevron Phillips Chemical stated.

“CPSC is a wonderful strategic match for Aster, and we’re assured the enterprise will thrive as a part of its portfolio,” Justine Smith, CPChem Govt Vice President of Business, stated. “With this transaction, we’re optimizing our asset portfolio to make sure we stay aggressive and proceed to function the provider of option to our international prospects”.

The transaction is topic to customary closing situations. Chevron Phillips Chemical stated its Asia headquarters, chargeable for the gross sales and advertising of merchandise all through the area, will stay in Singapore.

“This acquisition represents a key achievement for Aster, supporting our strategic objectives with new capabilities and strengthening our choices to prospects. CPSC’s manufacturing operations will improve our ecosystem and advance alternatives for innovation and new collaboration”, Erwin Ciputra, Group CEO of Aster, stated.

Aster stated it has a completely built-in refinery capability of 237,000 barrels per day alongside a 1.1 million metric ton ethylene cracker on Bukom Island, and downstream chemical belongings on Jurong Island.
