TA’ZIZ, an Abu Dhabi Nationwide Oil Co. (ADNOC) three way partnership tasked with establishing a “chemical substances and transition fuels ecosystem”, has awarded over $2 billion value of engineering, procurement and building contracts for the chemical infrastructure portion of the Al Ruwais venture.

Focused to go onstream 2027, the chemical facility is anticipated to provide 4.7 million tons a 12 months of chemical substances by 2028.

“TA’ZIZ will produce a variety of chemical substances, lots of which haven’t beforehand been manufactured within the UAE, enabling the native manufacture of many new building, agriculture and healthcare merchandise”, ADNOC stated in a press release. “In its preliminary section, TA’ZIZ will produce six chemical substances: caustic, ethylene dichloride, vinyl chloride monomer, polyvinyl chloride, low-carbon ammonia and methanol”.

NMDC Group received the contract for the chemical substances port of the venture. “When the port is full, it can facilitate the export of chemical substances and transition fuels, guaranteeing operational connectivity to regional and international markets and enhancing entry to imported provides”, ADNOC stated.

In the meantime Rotary Engineering–Abu Dhabi will construct the terminal portion, which could have storage amenities, tank-to-jetty pipelines, jetty-to-tank pipelines and inter-site pipelines.

“The devoted chemical substances port and terminal will allow exports from the 1 mtpa [million tons per annum] low-carbon ammonia manufacturing facility and world-scale methanol plant TAZIZ is constructing in Ruwais, in addition to imports of key supplies”, ADNOC stated.

Al Geemi Contracting received two contracts, one to construct utilities together with for energy transmission, steam and water, and one other to construct ancillary infrastructure resembling inside roads, buildings and safety fencing.
