3 Employees Killed in Scaffold Collapse at LNG Plant in Texas

Three staff have been killed and two have been injured when a piece of scaffolding collapsed early Tuesday at a liquefied pure gasoline plant that Sempra is constructing in Texas.

The 2 survivors on the Port Arthur LNG challenge have been rescued from the highest of the construction after it gave approach at about 2 a.m. native time, in keeping with Captain Crystal Holmes of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Workplace. The opposite three fell a number of tales and died.

The engineering firm Bechtel Group, which employs the employees, has halted work on the website, about 85 miles east of Houston.

The injured staff have been hospitalized, San Diego-based Sempra mentioned in an announcement. Regulators and native authorities are investigating the incident. Bechtel mentioned it’s totally cooperating. 

Sempra started constructing the plant in 2023 and expects to complete in 2027 or 2028. The corporate didn’t say when work on the website would resume.  

An area information station earlier reported the incident.
